in Thailand,Chiang Mai You May Want to Avoid
Chiang Mai is a beautiful backdrop city surrounded by some of the most amazing landscapes in Thailand. I made some amazing memories for life during my stay and I will definitely return. Here is my official evaluation for Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Chiang Mai Women's Rating: 4/5
Girls in Chiang Mai enjoy being some of the most beautiful girls in Thailand. They have a lighter complexion and then your average Thai girl is mostly very sweet. The Thai girls I interviewed in Chiang Mai are more on the ground and easier to go compared to Bangkok girls.
I find Bangkok girls more physical, and there really is a huge gray area between good and fancy girls. OK! I found a good girl, she's not a prostitute ... but buy her a pair of shoes and she'll ride you until the sun comes up! π
Chiang Mai is home to some of the largest universities in Thailand, so everywhere you go, you will see cute Thai girls in their school's outfits that drives me crazy! I have not yet slept with a Thai girl in uniform, but I ... will trust it. Just a matter of time.
Thai girls very sexy!
I met a lot of cute and friendly girls during my stay, and I would have easily settled with a few of them. Really sweet girls.
I also had a group of random one night stands with Thai girls there. Many of the girls I interviewed online only wanted to meet dinner and have some good sex with a foreigner. Oh that's good with me!
NUMBER ONE to meet sexy girls in Chiang Mai is ...
Thai cupid
If you are a reader of my site you know how much I love Thai Cupid. Living in Thailand without subscribing to this site is a big mistake! I slept with a lot of cute girls from Thai Cupid.
If you plan to spend any time in Thailand this year, be sure to register and upgrade your Platinum membership. Be sure to thank me after I was balls deep in college girl Chiang Mai.
If you are new to my site, be sure to read your post on "How to sleep with Thai girls". I also recommend registering ...
Thai friendly
Thai Friendly is a good site and it's totally free to join and send messages, so definitely make sure of it. Chiang Mai is much smaller than Bangkok, so I always join some locations when I am outside the big city. It's free and gives you more options.
Chiang Mai is a fun city full of young Thai girls! It's just perfect for a guy who wants to go to nuts and date a bunch of college girls.
The only issue I had was ... the city is too small. You will hit the same people in some places. In Bangkok, you will be invisible in the crowds but in Chiang Mai I came across my ex-friends all the time.
One night, my ex-girlfriend attacked me at the club when I was dancing with another girl ... not so cool. Be careful about this.
The pay-to-play system is a low key compared to the rest of Thailand, but you definitely have options. Chiang Mai has everything!
Soapy massage, regular massages, GoGo bars, beer bars, and freelance street staff. You can find everything here but not as good as many other cities in the south. This is quite good for me and I suspect that Chiang Mai attracts a different kind of expatriate then Pattaya or Phuket.
If I were to live in Chiang Mai, I would just have a nice young college girl and visit massage parlors if I needed something on the side. If you like parties like a freak and pull a different prostitute every night then just stick to Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket.
That said, I enjoyed Chiang Mai. The girls are very cute and you can find naughty nightlife if you look for it.
Chiang Mai Women's Rating: 4/5
Chiang Mai cost of living evaluation: 5/5
Cheap Chiang Mai! This city easily gets a perfect 5/5 rating. Everything from hotels, apartments, food and taxis was the cheapest in Chiang Mai. You can live well in this city for less than $ 1,000 a month.
I stayed in hotels during my stay. 600 baht per night got a very nice room just a short distance from Thapae Gate which is downtown. You can ask most guesthouses to discount if you stay longer then a few nights. Especially if the season is low.
You can save some money by taking a sleeping train from Bangkok instead of flying. I've never done this personally but I've heard it is a relaxing trip.
Another nice thing about Chiang Mai is that you are very close to the borders of Myanmar and Laos. This makes the visa work cheap and convenient.
If you plan to stay in Thailand in the long run, you will have to leave the country at least every three months. (Unless you have a work permit, student visa, or retirement visa). This sounds like a great thing to travel every few months but trust me ... it's pain in the damn ass.
Paying for plane tickets or taking a long-haul bus to other countries ... spending half of your day waiting in the queue for immigration ... paying the extension fee for God every few months ...
β
It is exhausting and all this money is added. But this is the price of living in paradise!
At least live in Chiang Mai, you can drive your motorbike to the borders of Myanmar to obtain a visa. If you don't like long rides, you can take a bus. I find the ride very enjoyable indeed.
Chiang Mai is one of the best values ββin Thailand. Chiang Mai cost of living evaluation: 5/5
Chiang Mai Quality of Life Rating: 5/5
Chiang Mai is this beautiful city. Chiang Mai Hotel maintains much of the history and culture that makes Thailand a unique and amazing country. There always seems to be some kind of festival or show.
I often see ceremonies or traditional Thai dancing in one of the many temples around the ancient city. The Old City was the old capital and it's still there
A large square trench surrounds the brick gate. Chiang Mai is full of beautiful historical temples that give it a unique atmosphere in Southeast Asia while still
Modern city.
The city is located in a valley surrounded by lush green mountains. The golden temple Doi Suthep glistens on the mountain side. It is really a special place that everyone should visit at some point in their life.
Chiang Mai has a lot of fun activities to do outdoors. Hiking around waterfalls, zip lines, motorcycle riding through mountains, awesome fishing spots, and the list is endless. There is a walking street every Sunday, where you can eat some beers and walk around and load some of the best Thai food in the country.
She wrote a post titled "Top Ten Things to Do in Chiang Mai". Read this post for more information on this great city. Trust me, if you love the outdoors Chiang Mai will keep you busy. In addition, there are shopping malls, cinemas, bars and restaurants in the city to keep you busy during those rainy months.
Living digital nomad style in Chiang Mai, Thailand
If you work online and like to hang out with like-minded people, Chiang Mai is the perfect place for you! Chiang Mai is arguably the digital nomad capital of Southeast Asia. There are hundreds of foreigners who live in Chiang Mai while working online. They are there to take advantage of the background lifestyle, low cost of living, fast Wi-Fi and excellent networking opportunities.
Chiang Mai is a much smaller city then Bangkok. There are pros and cons to this. The positives are much cleaner, easier to get around and people seem more friendly and rested.
The downside for me is, well, Chiang Mai is somewhat boring ... coming from Bangkok was like moving from a triple espresso to a decaffeinated espresso.
I may enjoy this aspect of Chiang Mai but I found myself missing Bangkok after a month. Chiang Mai's nightlife is somewhat quiet but you can definitely find a party if you are looking for it.
Another negative for me is the landlocked city and far from anything interesting. Once you are there, that's all. There are no easy weekend trips without flying. You don't want to live there if you love the beach, this is for sure.
Another noteworthy thing is air pollution. About February to April, farmers around Chiang Mai are burning rice fields to clear everything for a new season. This leaves a thick fog of smoke hanging on the city and the air quality is very poor for several months.
I had no problem with that, but you will definitely notice it and some people with health problems they can't face. If you have asthma or other health concerns, you may want to stay outside Chiang Mai for those months.
Besides, life is good. Traffic can be shaken at certain times of the day, but nothing compared to Bangkok.
Make sure to rent a motorbike during your stay so you can explore this great city. If you're not on the ride, you can easily ride a taxi or tuk tuk anywhere in the city at a cheap rate.
Another great thing about living in the north is the temperature. At night the weather becomes great. The only time I felt cold in Thailand was some nights in Chiang Mai.
Maybe it was still in the upper seventies but after a year of living in the brutal heat, any drop in temperature looks like a coming snowstorm is coming. It's cold on some nights, but don't feel overwhelmed here ... it's still hot and the food will be cooked during the day.
What else do I say? Chiang Mai is a great place to live. It gets a perfect score in this category.

Chiang Mai, Thailand - Paradise Paradise Rating: 14/15
If you are looking to live in a beautiful Asian city with lots of outdoor activities then Chiang Mai might be for you. Great women, nice people, great food, cheap with dirt and there are all modern amenities you can order.
If you don't mind slowing the pace of life, the lively small town and the inaccessibility of beaches, Chiang Mai is a great place to live. I fully understand why so many expats have been invited to Chiang Mai. it's a great city!

I have many fond memories of the time I spent there and I will definitely be going back again soon.
